Haiti - Nations League 2026 : Haiti crushes the Dominican Republic [4-1]

On Thursday, October 1st, 2026, in the group stage of the CONCACAF Nations League, at the Félix Sánchez Stadium in Santo Domingo, our Grenadiers faced the Dominican Republic's Quisqueyanos in Group A, whom they dominated 4-1. Our Grenadiers secured their third victory in as many matches.

Starting XI : Spanish coach David Badía announced only one change to his starting XI to face the Dominican Republic's Quisqueyanos, bringing on #5 Hannes Delcroix from FC Lugano (Switzerland). Once again, David Badía opted for his 4-2-3-1 formation.

Summary : The Grenadiers won the island derby and inflicted the Dominican Republic's first and heavy defeat in this Nations League, winning convincingly [4-1] in a packed stadium amidst an atmosphere of ecstatic fans.

The Grenadiers opened the scoring in the 9th minute with a goal from Louicius Deedson, assisted by Ruben Providence [1-0], in a match that began largely in Haiti's favor.

In the 51st minute, Wilson Isidor, well-positioned in the box, capitalized on a poorly cleared free kick to head home Haiti's second goal [2-0].

Dorny Romero took advantage of Carl Fred Sainté's poor control of the ball to pull one back for the Quisqueyanos in the 55th minute with a left-footed shot inside the box [2-1], giving hope to the thousands of Dominican fans.

That hope was short-lived, however, as in the 67th minute, Wilson Isidor scored his second goal, Haiti's third [3-1].

The final goal of the match was a header by Yassin Fortuné in the 77th minute.
